New music “Wahendzi,” is a brand new worship song written and recorded by new gospel music sensation, Yaw Adu-Ampomah.
According to the singer and songwriter, “Wahendzi” is a prayer to our Friend and Lord Jesus, to take His throne in the hearts of all who seek Him. From Rev 3:20, Jesus stands at the door of our hearts waiting for us to invite him over to find a dwelling place therein. “Through this piece, we ask that He reigns over all adversaries, insecurities and grant direction to all who seem to have lost their way,” he said.
This is Yaw’s second project after “My Testimony” which was released in March 2019.
Music has always been a part of the KNUST Electrical Engineering Graduate’s upbringing; growing up in a family of talented singers. Yaw Adu-Ampomah is, however, the first of his folks to share his music beyond the corridors of Church and School – two institutions that has helped horn his interest and skills in songwriting and singing.
At Prempeh College and the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science & Technology where he had his secondary and tertiary education respectively, Adu-Ampomah was a member of various music groups including KNUST’s Inter-Hall Christian Fellowship’s (IHCF) Gospel Explosion in 2012 where he rose through the ranks as a Front liner and later on as a Part leader. For 2 years, he served as the Praise & Worship Head for IHCF and is currently a member of Christ’s Bloodline Crew (CBC) Inc.; a Gospel music group in Kumasi.
The musician counts Pastor Samuel Obeng Poku and Nathaniel Bassey among his influencers and believes his music and ministry would in turn impact positively on his generation and beyond.
