Check out this new soul-lifting track Standing Under Bright Lights By Alex Henry Foster.
Post-alternative rock member Alex Henry Foster released his live 3-vinyl / CD double-deck movie and concert movie “Standing Under Bright Lights”. Available on the ubiquitous digital and streaming outlets of Hopeful Tragedy Records, the project was recorded directly in front of the sold out Club Soda (July 2019) while Foster presided over the Montreal International Jazz Festival.
From Montreal and now residing in Virginia Heights, Foster’s 11-piece concert, Standing Under Bright Lights, has been named one of the top five events the national Canadian broadcaster CBC should not miss. Originally scheduled for release on October 8, 2020, which could have been his late father’s birthday, Foster decided to take advantage of the extra time the global pandemic gives to produce the recording film and concert.
Along with the lead singles “The Son of Hannah” and “Winter Is Coming In” that have received hundreds of thousands of plays across multiple playlists, Standing Under Bright Lights features every single from Foster’s debut solo album, Windows in the Sky, It did not reach .1 multiple times on the Billboard Canadian Albums chart, staying in the top 40 on the chart for an entire year after its release. Songs from this popular album were reinvented for live recording as the band performed a Foster movie screening. At nearly 2 hours and 30 minutes ago, the concert at which Standing Under Bright Lights recorded is now among the best concerts in the 40 years of the Montreal International Jazz Festival.
